The end of my shooting year has come to a close. All the galleries have been sent and any products ordered are hopefully wrapped and under the tree or will be soon. What does this mean for you? Well, I get to revisit some of my favorite Fall weddings and take you along for the ride. Fall weddings are some of favorite. I love the warm days and crisp cool nights, the colors that aren’t really bright but not yet dull, and the perfect excuse to start drinking hot cocoa and unpacking big, cozy sweaters. Without further rambling about Fall, Brooke and Matty’s black tie session is below.
Brooke and Matty were such a fun couple to work with. We shot their engagement session at Silver Lake up Big Cottonwood Canyon. When it came time for their black tie session they chose the Salt Lake Temple (the same venue as their wedding). After rescheduling due to weather we were blessed with a beautiful fall evening.
I love when couples choose to have a black tie session at their wedding venue. This allows us more time to make beautiful images that will be hung on the walls of your home and will fit perfectly into your completed visual story. It also takes some of the stress off of the wedding day. The Salt Lake Temple is a popular venue and I can attest you usually end up working around other couples have their pictures made. Take my advice…if at all possible schedule a black tie session either before or after your wedding. You will be grateful that the images of you and your fiance are complete when on the day of your wedding you or a important guest is running late, the weather isn’t perfect for your outdoor ceremony, or you have finally let down after the anticipation of such a major event and aren’t feeling your best. A black tie session can solve a lot of wedding day stresses.
The Salt Lake Temple and grounds were the perfect compliment to Matty and Brooke’s giant smiles and classic attire. Brooke wore a custom dress made by her Grandmother and Matty wore a light gray suit from Express. We had a great time playing and laughing our way through this session.
