Utah Capitol Black Tie Photography | Morgan Leigh Photography
This Spring in Utah has been a wet one. Stephanie and Seth were no exception when they picked the date for their black tie session, it either sprinkled or threatened rain all day long. When it came time to shoot prayers were answered, the clouds parted and the sun broke through. Even though the rain held the wind did not but I say wind just adds drama to your pictures. Little did we know it would be a precursor for their very windy wedding day, but that’s a story for another blog post.
One of my favorite parts of black tie sessions are the first looks. This one definitely made my top 5 favorite first looks. Starting with Stephanie’s Dad helping to make sure her train was just perfect and ending with the overjoyed look on Seth’s face when he saw his bride for the first time. There is something special about watching such a tender moment in my couples lives. I am always grateful I’m allowed to share in that moment with them. If your on the fence about a first look let me give you 2 cents…Do it! The first look pictures are always favorites.
We happened to be shooting the same day as the Cotopaxi Utah questival. Teams would compete in an extreme scavenger hunt/obstacle course. I’m not sure of the rules but we did accommodate not one but two teams who needed a picture with a bride and groom. Stephanie and Seth were great sports and happily obliged.
