Engagement sessions are some of my favorite to shoot. The opportunity we have to play and relax and make beautiful images is always a good day in my book. Learning how you move in front of the camera, how your photographer communicates, and trusting the process are all great precursors for the wedding day (and the rest of your life). I often hear from couples how uncomfortable they are or that they never like pictures of themselves. Your engagement session is the perfect place to work out the kinks and nervous energy that comes from being photographed. If your engagement session goes well hopefully the only jitters you’ll feel on your wedding day is the excitement of getting to marry the person you love and starting a life with them.
Pro tip: When picking your wardrobe pick pieces that go together. You don’t have to match to look like you belong with one another. If you’re having trouble picking an outfit try dressing for a season or staying in a color palette, i.e. pastels or jewel tones.
